Forensic Services
(Mediation, Evaluative & Therapeutic)
At Changing Waves Consulting, LLC, I offer comprehensive forensic mental health services to courts, attorneys, school systems, businesses, families, and individuals. These services include mediation, evaluative assessments, and therapeutic interventions designed to inform judicial decision-making and support the emotional and relational health of those involved. All forensic services are delivered with clinical rigor, cultural humility, and a deep understanding of trauma, systems, and family dynamics. Whether evaluative or therapeutic in nature, my role is to bring clarity, structure, and healing-oriented support to even the most complex family matters. The following is a breakdown of each different type of service provided.

Depending on the specific issues in a case, the court or an attorney may refer a family or individual for
evaluation. These evaluations are designed to assist the court in determining what is in the best interests
of the child(ren) and/or parties involved. These evaluations follow state-specific standards and best
practices established by leading professional organizations.

Mediation
As a trained mediator with additional certification in domestic violence-informed practice, I facilitate
productive dialogue and support collaborative decision-making between parties in high-conflict or court-involved family, civil or school related matters. Mediation services are structured to ensure safety, promote clarity, and reduce litigation through structured communication and child-centered agreements as applicable.

These evaluations typically include interviews with both parents, children, and other significant caregivers;
observations of parent-child interactions in both office and/or home settings; administration of psychological and parenting assessments; and review of relevant records from medical, mental health, legal, educational, and social service professionals. In some instances, I may provide a brief focused assessment to address a specific, narrowly defined issue impeding resolution of a family related matter.
These evaluations are conducted with clinical integrity, cultural responsiveness, and a trauma-informed
lens, always with the intention of supporting ethical advocacy, appropriate intervention, and well-informed
court decisions.
Evaluative services may include:
Custody and Parenting Time Evaluations

Therapeutic Forensic Services
In some cases, courts order therapeutic interventions to assist families in addressing relational breakdowns or persistent conflict. I offer a range of therapeutic services in court-involved contexts, including:
Co-parenting Therapy and Coaching
Co-parenting therapy focuses on helping parents reduce conflict, improve communication, and develop
collaborative parenting strategies that center the well-being of their children.
Parenting Time Coordination (with Domestic Violence Credential)
As a Parenting time coordinator, I assist families in implementing parenting plans and resolving
disputes as they arise, helping to minimize ongoing conflict. I have completed court-required and
specialized training in domestic violence to provide this service safely and effectively.
Reunification Therapy
Reunification therapy, provided as a certified reunification therapist, supports the restoration of
relationships between parents and children when there has been estrangement, resistance, or rupture.
Pendente Lite and Post-Judgment Groups & Workshops
Pendente Lite and Post-Judgment related groups and workshops are offered consistently throughout
the year to support families as they journey through these difficult experiences.
Because court-involved therapies differ from traditional confidential therapy, I accept these referrals when accompanied by a formal court order outlining the scope and goals of treatment and authorizing regular communication with the court through periodic summaries.
